#TOYOTA NAVIGATION UPDATE 2019 ANDROID#
Is possible they are much better now, but if I'm gonna invest money in something that is gonna be an in dash android auto unit. Google maps has the most up to date maps but is halfway reliable at best, constantly rerouting and often confused. I owned a Tom Tom long ago, but it was a pain to use. I have always been very impressed with that. I don't know who is the company behind the map system, but I find it unique and useful how the upcoming intersecting freeways and Freeway exits pop up at the top in big Green sings resembling those you see in the actual road, and highlights not only which to take, but which lanes to stay in. Also, the GPS was remarkably reliable driving from Houston all the way to the middle of Mexico, something my smartphone couldn't do without relying on roaming and all related fees. I think it has to do with the fact that the GPS is connected to the antenna on the outside of the car, but for example, when going in the midst of downtown Houston, when most signals are bad and blocked by a bunch of buildings, most GPS systems constantly lose connection (including my phone), but the built in GPS in the car does not. But unless I'm wrong, here is the main reason why I prefer the Toyota navigation : reliability. but I will continue to repeatedly nag them about this issue.Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm guessing I won't hear back from Toyota Canada.

In my initial correspondence, I challenged Toyota Canada to provide owners (like us) with a one-time use voucher for a FREE NAVIGATION UPDATE beyond the three years, in the stunning event that an update be available shortly after our three years ended. He said he would contact the Dealership to discuss. I told him the Dealership said there were NO UPDATES. A customer service agent called me to say that my vehicle was eligible for three map updates during the first three years of ownership. told them the Dealership repeatedly told me there were NO MAP UPDATES for the 2019 RAV4.

I've never forgotten my built-in Nav in the house either. My built-in Nav has never been stolen, and I never have to hide it when parked. It seems odd nearly 1.5 years later there is no updates as of yet to offline maps. I'm trying to determine if my dealership is accurate, and so what prior experiences owners have had with the frequency of navigation system map updates from Toyota in general. Here you’ll find everything you need to update your Toyota’s multimedia or navigation system firmware. So, has anyone had map updates applied to the in vehicle Navigation system for any Rav 2019 or newer? I'm told I am entitled to 3 updates over a period of 3 years at no cost. Since the infotainment is only supporting CarPlay on 2019's for the foreseeable future (which sucks) and I'm an Android user, you can see the value in getting map updates. Nor does it have remote connect etc unlike 2020's, so obviously this is more relevant to myself vs newer model years in Canada, or other regions. The latest SD-card navigation update is available at your local dealer or can be purchased online from participating dealers at vehicles can be viewed here. For navigation updates on other vehicles not listed, please contact your local Toyota dealer. Since it's a 2019 model in Canada it has limited features via the DCM and does not get streaming map updates via navigation planning etc. They've indicated no map updates exist as of yet for the 2019 or newer systems. I asked the dealership to check for and install navigation system map updates during my next service appointment. I've got a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid, limited edition trim.
